On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, the Valmiki Rangshala of the Sangeet Natak Academy came alive with the powerful performance of the drama ‘Ajaatghar’. This event marked the grand finale of an intensive drama direction workshop organized under the expert guidance of Siddharth Gautam.
The workshop, which focused on the intricate nuances of theatre direction, culminated in the staging of ‘Ajaatghar’, a thought-provoking two-person play. The story revolves around two individuals trapped in an unidentified house during riots, with the central theme exploring the complexities of caste and religion, referred to as ‘Jaat’.
The event was inaugurated by the esteemed actor Dr Anil Rastogi and the academy’s director, Dr Shobhit Kumar Nahar, who lit the traditional lamp to signify the beginning of the performance. Following the inaugural ceremony, Dr Rastogi and Dr Nahar presented certificates to the dedicated participants, acknowledging their hard work and successful completion of the workshop.
